International Conference on Caribbean Carnival Cultures

International Conference on Caribbean Carnival Cultures

We are delighted to announce that registration is now open for the international conference on Caribbean Carnival Cultures on 19 – 21 May 2017 at Leeds Beckett University.

Hosted by the Centre for Culture and the Arts in partnership with Leeds West Indian Carnival the conference will coincide with the fiftieth year of the Leeds West Indian Carnival, the oldest Caribbean street carnival in Europe.

Registration and booking for the conference is now open. Places are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

The fees include lunch and refreshments on Friday and Saturday and the Civic Reception with the Lord Mayor on Saturday evening (including dinner, entertainment and drinks).

The conference is shaping up to be an excellent event with a global scope involving leading national and international academics and artists in the field and founding members of the Caribbean Carnival in Leeds, UK.

A draft copy of the conference schedule and abstract booklet is now available on our conference website. These are both provisional and subject to change.

For any general enquiries please contact Conference Administrator Danielle Hall at D.Hall@Leedsbeckett.ac.uk. We look forward to coming together in celebration of international Caribbean carnival cultures.
