Popup Culturama 2019: Holmfirth

Popup Carnival in Holmfirth

Yorkshire West Indian Culturama is pleased to announce the cultural project for 2019, Popup Culturama, which will place on Saturday 14th September, 3pm – 8pm @ Old Bridge, Market Street, Holmfirth, HD9 7DA.

The popup will take place in Holmfirth. Building stronger communities and promoting community cohesion is the idea behind the project. We aim to help people achieve everyday goals, through motivation and self-belief.

Leading up to the project will be a month of workshop events in which people can learn how to bring cultural ideas to life through planning and design. The workshops, for young and old, will teach people practical skills through the use of tactile materials and colours. Those taking part will learn to make cultural clothing, costumes and dance.

Each workshop is free of charge. Everyone taking part will have the opportunity to join the popup Culturama to share their design or dance routine with the community.

The Popup Culturama management committee will be the only provider of catering on popup Culturama day; however, opportunities are available for people with stalls selling flags, arts and crafts or clothing, so please get in touch.
