Pop-Up Soca & Calypso Singing

The YWICCN popup Soca & Calypso singing project was conceived in the community when our portable PA system was used to encourage and engage passers-by to have a singalong or take the mic and sing their favourite Soca or Calypso tune. YWICCN have performed three of popup Soca & Calypso sessions. Having had positive feedback, we aim to use the medium to educate the general public about diversity via Eastern Caribbean traditional music.

Caribbean Hurricane Relief Project

The Caribbean hurricane relief project is a charitable venture that supports the Eastern Caribbean hurricane disaster fund when the annual hurricane season occurs. Our aims and objectives are to volunteer 20 hours of time each month raising funds and coordinating donations of essential provisions to the disaster victims in the Caribbean. Our annual aim is to send four barrels of essential tinned food items, dry food stuffs, baby and children’s items, survival items, as well as first aid supplies. If […]
